## How it works

1. Set up your grinder and brewers.
2. Choose your water and calibrate the drops.
3. Add a coffee from its link or a photo of the bag.
4. Pick a brewer for a recipe built for the bean.
5. Rate the sweetness, acidity, body and faults.
6. Tweak by hand, or try the optional suggestions.
7. Watch your score and recipe, brew by brew.
8. Lock in the recipe once it's dialled in.

## FAQ

### What does dialling in coffee mean?

Dialling in (or dialing in) is adjusting a recipe brew by brew — grind size, contact time, agitation, temperature, water — until a coffee tastes the way you want. The trick is changing one thing at a time, so you know which change made the difference.

### How does Cuplift help me dial in?

Log each brew with what you tasted — sweetness, acidity, body, sourness, bitterness, astringency — and a score. Cuplift reads those cues and suggests exactly one change for your next brew, in the order that matters: drawdown first, then water, extraction, strength, and finally refinement. It never changes your recipe for you.

### Where does the starting recipe come from?

From your brewer's defaults, adjusted for the bean — roast, process, altitude and variety — and for what has worked on similar coffees and in your own brew history. Paste the coffee's product link or take a photo of the bag, and Cuplift reads the bean details for you.

### Which brewers and grinders does it support?

AeroPress, AeroPress XL, V60, Chemex, Orea V4, Orea V3, Kalita Wave, Hario Switch, Origami, Cold Brew, French Press, Hoop, UFO V2, UFO V3, UFO Ceramic. Grind settings are shown in your own grinder's clicks, or left out entirely if you use pre-ground coffee.

### Why does my coffee taste sour or bitter?

Sour and thin usually means under-extracted: grind finer, or give it more contact time. Bitter, harsh or astringent usually means over-extracted: grind coarser, or shorten the brew. Grind moves extraction most directly, so it's the first thing to change — one step at a time.

### Is Cuplift free?

Yes. Sign in with Google or email and log your first brew — Cuplift is free to use.
